Hi, if there's a problem still, I'd like you to write me, http://smugmug.com/help/emailreal (external link) ATTN: Andy

We've set up our payments to be electronic, and we do 'em every month for pros that want to get paid monthly - there's no minimum amount, but there is an automatic amount - $500 and we'll automatically send it. Under $500, just push the button, 'pay me' and we'll send it. If you ever miss, and it's after the end of the month, no worries, we can usually do a special payment, all you have to do is ask.

Again, sorry you got tripped up by this, I'd love it if you wrote me about the details so I can fix things up.

We want to pay our pros $$ - it is YOUR money after all :)

Thanks, but I'm done writing e-mails...I've had enough. I will simply be moving on to someone else when my service expires.

I have not had any issues with Smug Mug, Payments are made when appropriate per their limits, or when I press the button. I am a simple user of their service and do not in anyway represent them or work for them. Sorry to hear you can't figure out how to get paid.. Andy Williams offers to make it right and you blow him off.. hmm.. sounds like you couldn't work it and embarrassed to accept help. I think you should reconsider, but if not.. please let us know who you choose for service, I chose Smugmug based on recommendations and experience with it during another venture. I have had no issues, they have been a quality service.

SmugMug has been great. I am impressed that two employees have come on a non-SmugMug site to offer support.

Hi, I've actually checked and we set you up for a special payment so you'll be seeing the funds, if you don't, just shoot me an email at our help desk. And if you ever want to talk about it in detail, just holler for me, I'm always available. Thanks.

Maybe it's just me, but shouldn't ALL monthly payments be automatic? Even a dollar? Less any account and/or service fees, when a sale is made it's their money, not the company's.

I dont meet the minimum monthly, but when I do am I happy, its kind of like a surprise or an early Christmas present. If I requested what SM owed me right now I would blow it on something I dont need.

Why not just do that in the first place rather than post all the drama here? From the replies posted here (and my positive experience with smugmug support) these folks have bent over backwards to help resolve this.

Smugmug does pay monthly to pro's with sales. I get a monthly deposit for the sales tax collected that I have to remit to the state. As far as paying sales profits of less than $500.00, I can only speculate as to why they do this. For me, it's not an inconvenience. I haven't opted to have them hold sales profits until I'm prepared to make a larger purchase, but it does provide another option, even if it's one that I don't personally need.

The first time I asked them to pay me, I was too close to a payment period and didn't see a payment when I thought I would. Sure enough, the payment was made the following month.

Too many people come here to whine, complain, or share their personally perceived misery.

Perhaps that is why the title fairies have labeled the OP, " I'm a little slow ".

Was that really necessary?

To the OP, have you ever thought of having a personal website made?n It would probably be a lot cheaper in the long run, and you could set up a shopping cart and not have to worry about waiting to get paid? Just a thought, I mean Smugmug pro 159 a year or something like that? in 5yrs 795.00, i'm sure you have some buddies that could build you a nice site for less? Just my 2 cents.

It's all about them keeping the money in escrow as long as possible.... just another way to make $.... underhandedly that is. You can bet your ass if you owed them a dime they'd have collections all over your ass.

Yes, I have thought about going that route as well, I have seen some really cool custom sites from photographers here, but to be honest I don't personally know anyone who does that sort of thing...I would definitely have to hire someone to do it and I'm not sure about the prices and maintenance compared to companies like Smug and Zen.
