My dad owns a XSi with the EF-S 15-85 IS lens and decided he did not want his EF 50 f/1.8 lens anymore as he never uses it since the zoom encompasses that range. I told him to sell the thing and he could get ± $150 but he decided to give it to me. All I could say was "thank you". ;)

Since you are using a crop camera, you can use ET-65 lens hood instead of the ES-65.

Thanks for the comments all. I am definitely in bokeh heaven.

Mike, I appreciate the advice on the hood. I always use hoods.

Bokeh heaven? Whew, the 50/1.8 has a rep as some of the worst bokeh available.
