Hi @ All
Thanks for looking!

Also, the strong light on the right of the model in the first one really pulls my eyes toward it and away from the model. Might have been better to underexpose the background a bit to make the models stand out more. Flickr

Maybe her face is too soft, or the focus is off... or maybe I just don't care for the pose/makeup. ---Canon 5Dmkii * Canon 5D * 50mm 1.2 * 50mm 2.5 macro * 35f2 * 85mm 1.8 * 430exii * 580exii---

Nov 12, 2010 08:53 | #10 Lots of newbie image makers look at their images and while they kinda like them (after all they shot them!) they realize that something is missing, so they ask for critique but they seldom actually get anything that really helps them. The problem is grandmother! She always said; "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." So the image maker asks for comments and comments he gets, like "great shot", "excellent images", "wow, I wish I could shoot like that", "beautiful" and so forth. So what do comments like these do for the maker? They puff him up and make him think that the images really are beautiful, great, etc., because others have said so, so he must have arrived at near perfection. Hardly....

Constructive critique of image# 1. The white balance is wonderful as is the focus. When we look at an image our eyes are attracted first to the brightest area or object in the image, which in this image is the upper right hand corner. The pose is very static with her body straight up and down and her chest, face and eyes all pointing in nearly the same direction. Staticness equals boringness in a photograph. The post processing of this image has left it VERY mushy, especially her hair, it looks like it was painted with a brush. Benji Benji, thank you so much for your critique (i can learn from) Canon 7D | Canon 40D | Canon 430 EX II

The skin smoothing looks a wee bit overdone and is very obvious on the neck. Whlist I can accept this, there seems to be a slight difference in sharpness of the eyes, with the foremost one looking a little unsharp.
