That is good advice. Penn already sent it off to their service. I'll keep that in mind for the next time it breaks. On the other hand my nest camera is going to be the 5dII and I'll most likely keep the XSi as a back up or for my kids to use. They both budding artists/musicians.

I guess the repair is for making it see a memory card. Penn has a book of prices from their repair facility. They just look up what your camera is doing wrong and there's a price listed to fix it. So yeah I sent it off. We'll see what comes of it.

8 weeks is a ridiculous amount of time for the repair.. May I ask why you didn't contact Canon?
