i am looking forward to my buying a 7d ( waiting for the truck to sell):rolleyes: but in the mean time i shot this from my sx10is, then did some editing. advice?

I agree, the vignette is too much and I don't like that she is so young and you can see down her shirt.

It's playful and fun though. Not one that I could see a mom hanging on a wall but I could see it going in a scrap book.

You've made her arm look like it has a severe sunburn with the vignette.

Vignetting the sides is one thing, but over-exposing her face is worse. Her face is also soft - check the contrasts for eyebrows and -lashes - seems the top of her head is given priority as subject matter.

Consider cropping from the top too - particularly if you darken the top edge of her head a little in keeping with the vignette, then it won't draw the eye up so severely, but it will put a lot stronger emphasis on her expression.

Ignoring the technical things, it still qualifies as fun and - as Sheryl said - fully scrap-book worthy.
