This was my first time taking panning shots ever. I was limited to my 28-135mm IS USM Lens, so I did miss out on a lot of shots. But these were my selected favorites. I'll post more if there is interest.

Fastest car of the day, setting the new lap record at 1:41?!?? Sierra-Sierra Evo.

I think I like the S2000 3/4 shot best (even if its on pit in I think?)

I wish I had gone. Someone told me the is a Redline TimeAttack event this weekend at CA Speedway, might have to hit that up. Though last time they had so much of the course blocked off you couldn't get any good pics really (unless you had an in, which last time I did, this time I don't)

I feel like I've gone back in time.

This one was called the SuperStreet Super Lap Battle, but oddly enough I did not see any superstreet stuff there. But anyhow the full course was open and the amount of racers were decent. I honestly think the race day was scheduled way too late after the SEMA show. Normally like years before the race was scheduled only a few days after the SEMA show which allowed most of the racers at the show to caravan into California for the race.

Why was your lens at fault????
Your panning action is right on....but your exposures are horrible!

Some of your locations are great....and your shots show it.
Others your shooting into the sun and glare...but your exposure was under
because of it (add ev if needed...blow the background to capture your subject)

Your panning technique is right on....kudos

Are you saying you didn't have enough lens....or ???

Location on some would have been nice to be with light to your back
or side...but sometimes you have to shoot with what your given.

Good job on panning...be happy

It was a tough day for a rookie.

The weather was relentless, switching between cloudy and bright and sunny every few seconds. Thanks for the critique.

The lens fell short in a few nice shots I could've had, some came out nice but the images had to be cropped.

Like this one. Cropped like 20%.

These look great considering the lens you had. Any pictures of the Rennspec M3?
