You're going to have to spend $150.

On the battery grip!!!!!! Wow! This thing makes this camera feel so much better! I am in no way regretting this purchase at all. It makes the camera so much more stable and comfortable to hold when using larger lenses. Feels real solid now like if the camera is complete.

So don't think twice if you don't have one already. Go and get one I know you'll love it.

Just thought that I'd like to share because I'm excited and I don't feel like putting down the camera right now. I think I'll go eat dinner while holding it.

P.S. Didn't mean to scare you. :p

[EDIT]
Anyone know if there's a better deal for a hand strap than the Canon one at B&H? That one is $22 and I'm wondering if there's a cheaper one that's just as good.

Agreed! I had one on my Rebel XT, but sold that set-up last week. Now I have the 20D with the battery-grip. These grips are worth every penny IMO.

I have seen several reviews saying that the battery grip is not really tight, firmed or whatever when it is attached on the 20D body. Is it true?

Mine are firm, tight and solid on both bodies.

Mine feels just as solid as the one that I had on my Rebel XT. I just bought the grip last week from BH. I guess that I got lucky and got one of their updated models. No regrets from me yet.....fingers crossed.

You should consider the POTN strap... :)

I think I might have to go ahead and get one of those to distribute weight better.

I was speaking about the hand strap though. =)

i love my grip too. i took it off for like ten minutes and almost dropped my camera. it went back on asap. it does feel so much nicer. i've seen some leather hand straps around here somewhere. i may have even seen a snakeskin one.

Not in my case. I got my grip a a few weeks ago and its solid so far. I haven't had to tighten it since the first time. I've also tried the "power failure test" by attaching my 70-200 and my speedlite and grabbing it by the grip. It stayed on even when I tried shaking it. The only thing I haven't tried is using the AA batteries on it. I just don't wanna risk killing 6 batteries. I guess I should buy some good rechargeable ones.

Set up: Canon EOS 20D, Canon 50mm f/1.8 II, Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, Canon 70-200mm f/4L, Sigma 10-20mm F/4-5.6, Canon 420EX Speedlite TTL, Battery Grip, 3GB worth of CF, Tamrac CyberPack 9, P.O.T.N. Op-Tech Strap.
Wish List: Sigma 150mm f/2.8 EX, Canon 85mm f/1.8 USM, Canon 1.4x TC, Giottos MT-8170.

Ditto. I love my 350D grip! It also helps with the weight balance when using heavier lenses and also gives you that nice comfortable grip when shooting verticals.

i think overall, it would be cheaper to just go with the sterlingtek batteries. those rechargable AAs are heavy and can be expensive.

My BG-E3 should be here tomorrow!!! Can't wait!

About batteries, I bought a pair of 1000mAh batteries from Power101 on Ebay. I got them for ~$8/ea shipped. I've only used one of them so far, but it seems to be working ok. I'll give them a good workout next week at Disneyworld. I'll let you know if they hold up well. If so, they're quite a bit cheaper than the Sterlingtek batteries.
