"what was the setup?" "what equipment did you use?"
;) ;) ;)

No, really... ;) Thanks for the set up shots.

That bubble machine looks a bit smallish for the task. Would having more bubbles in the shot been something you would have liked? Neat idea and I actually like the girls expression with the flipped hair and white cord flying. I guess what bugs me is the pink cell phone cover. Having it a solid black would make it less of a product placement image. It just pops right out and after her hair is the next thing I see.

And I'm OK with the cropped legs. A frame that would have included her feet and the top of her long hair would also mean that she would be much smaller in the frame and less engaging.

I think you've coined a new term, "Bubble Bokeh." Nice!

It looks like you have a great team to work with. Great effort and thank you for posting and teaching the rest of us.

Haven't been active on POTN for a while ever since I lost my interest in photography. I must say that your work is definitely eye-catching & inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

Get it trade marked, NOW! Before it's gone. Also get bubblebokeh.com locked up! ;)

I like the original one you posted better. She is looking into the camera on that one and so she is engaged with the viewer. Not so much with the new one. That one makes me wonder what she finds so interesting on the floor. Maybe a snake trying to bite her. The flare is cool. Did you add that or did you get real lucky, errrr... I mean good?

Great concept and very well executed. What type of motion gave that type of hair movement?

Hi phamster,

I'm a noob and mostly a lurker but just had to pipe in with my congratulations on the shoot, specifically the first shot you posted. I really don't understand the nit picking of this photo, I think it is your best shot to date and I cannot stop looking at it. For some reason it says Sony to me, even though she is carrying an ipod. Anyway the reason I think it works is down to the great motion and configuration of the pose, the look on the girls face and of course the bubbles :)

How on earth could you better the look on the girls face? It doesn't matter that it was difficult to achieve a convincing look, as if to say that you have to apologise for it. It never came across as not quite good enough, it's perfect.

On another note, I hope you will continue to post in these forums, as I have been inspired by your photos, so much so that I have a Westcott apollo on the way and already have the triggers! Unfortunately the 85 1.2 is going to have to wait :(
