I tend to get some nasty sunspots whenever I use my Canon WCDC58N wide-angle converter for my G6, and I know that there is no hood that is sold for this lens, so my question to you guys is, how would I go about making one? In terms of how far out it should protrude, what material inside it should be as well as out, and some ideas on attaching it too. And help would be appreciated. Thanks!

My solution is far simpler, I normally wear a hat when taking pictures, I can then use it to shade the lens when needed, it is quite large and can be placed exactly where needed. There was a retail product around several years ago which attached to the flash shoe - see Flarebuster (external link) - do a google/eBay search on "French Flag", there are several options for making something similar...

Oh that "French Flag" is a good idea. Yea, I'm not just getting sunspots, but i'm also getting flares during long night exposures, so I don't know if a hat would work for that. But I can probably make my own version of that French flag. Thanks for the tip!
