I cant be happier with mine. Dead on at any aperture, and any FL. Superb.

I would like to see some comparison images from both lenses from someone who upgraded from the Mark I to the Mark II.

I'm a Mark I owner and have the fever to upgrade. I hate this feeling......

I might get the chance to do just that.

You'll feel a lot better just buying it.:) There's no sense in doing a comparison. I used to own the MK I and the MK II is that much better. :)

Absolutely awesome. I have no complaints. Sharp at all focal lengths. I sent mine in for concerns of decentering as one corner seemed to be slightly less sharp. But after it came back calibrated, it was pure magic.

I've never noticed a difference in sharpness throughout the focal lengths. I had the 24-70 for a short time and that was a bit of a pain with focusing. I traded it in for the Mark II and couldn't be happier. Now I just need something better in the 24-70 range.

I've heard all the raves about this lens on a 7D but how does it perform on a 40D and 50D...just as well?

My copy is so sharp my eyes bleed when I look at it....not the pictures, the actual lens. Yeah, it's that badass.

How is your copy of the 70-200mm mark II!?

Sadly unused. For the past six months I've basically completely gone over to using prime lenses and the 70-200/II has not gotten much exercise. It's too bad as it's a fantastic lens. I got a load of great pictures with it during a safari in South Africa in May and I would really like to have another such opportunity to put it to good use.

The problem is that it's a bit of a specialty lens for me. I primarily shoot nature and landscapes for which I rarely need full 200mm. At the same time it's heavy and bulky and not a lens that I'd bring along unless I really knew that I needed it.

Superb lens, well worth the upgrade if you're often shooting at f/2.8
