they automatically think they're a photographer. But it goes beyond that. They start a page on FB and charge to take pictures.
What do you think about this?

I just purchased a EOS 1000D with the 2 kit lenses and every thinks I should take their pictures for them. Now I'm sure no photographer and bought the camera to replace my old G3 that quit working. I got it to take vacation shots, work related (non photographic quality type) etc. Just always love the SLR from years ago when I owned several and was serious about it as a hobby. Now I simply prefer them but don't need top of the line as the bit of difference means little to me now as long as the pictures are clear enough to understand.

Except the facebook part. ![]() Well said. I started w/ an XT and a 28-135 and now look. Yep, you guessed it, I gave away quite a few pics. Who cares? Apparently all those whining about the GWCs. So, they bought a camera and lens. Who really piss me off, and I let them know about it, are the site managers, ADs or whoever, that let parents on the sideline because they know them. They don't have the first flippin' clue about where to stand, or not stand for that matter and don't know proper etiquette. That's about the only part that pisses me off about GWCs, not because they're there with a camera. It's because they don't know and don't respect the rules (whether written or unwritten). Kevin
