Fighting Birds

There is this one lake within walking distance from my house that, around dust, gets absolutly filled with these birds. It offeres a great place to practice some long-range photography. Anyhow, I went there before dust and there were only a few there, and apparently these two did not like eachother very much:

Very nice action images here, and I was wondering if this is fighting or if this might be a young bird trying to get food from mom, although they both look very mature, this reminds me of the feeding somewhat or even the male female pre mating rituals. I am no expert on this though!

Wonderful action captures, well done. I think Eric is right, they look like a couple of Immature Greater Egrets IMO. I don't think it's a mating thing as I don't see any nuptial plumage. But amazing shots, well done

Well, I know it is not getting food, as if you look at the heads, the one on the left has the one on the right's head in its beak. I am not sure about mating, it could be possible, in fact I saw many of the birds starting to build nests, and I am not a bird person but I would think there would be some correlation there.

I have been there several times and every now and then there was a 'professional' photographer there. Well he says he used to be a professional but I think he was just doing it for pleasure now. He seemed to think they were great egrets and there are alot of them.
