"Vagabond Mini™ Lithium shipments anticipated to begin in December.
The original estimated date has been pushed back due to factors beyond our control. We are now anticipating shipments to begin in mid to late December"

And from PCB's Techforum:

"As of today, we are expecting a mid to late December release. While Christmas delivery is possible, I cannot recommend relying on it. "

Always factors beyond their control. Looks like another six weeks. Can't say I'm surprised. At least they're predictable in their inability to deliver product as promised.

It happens. Factories have trouble beyond control. Im still wondering when the vagabond II will be available.

With most companies, it happens occasionally. With PCB (Einstein, PLM V2, and now VML) it's as inevitable as death and taxes.

I wonder why it's always six weeks, though. Is four weeks too short...like they need more time to cover their butts just in case that becomes completely unrealistic. Perhaps two months sounds much too long and may deter future purchases. So they just compromise and call it six weeks. It'd be nice if they could actually get those out before the holidays. I have a feeling they won't.

I was considering either a VBII or the Mini, and decided I wasn't going to wait. It doesn't matter if something is the best product in the world if it's not available. I ended up going with a Tronix Explorer. ... Awesome product !!! Hard for me to compare to either the VBII or Mini since I don't have one, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Tronix is better. It is built very solid.

And this from PCB himself on FM a few days ago:

"The original mid to late November schedule has not changed. We received 10 production inverters today (2500 are ready to ship) and received first articles of molded housings also today . . .no serious problems. 2500 batteries are made and waiting to go into the molded cases, which are now being made. We will be doing final testing of all components over the next week while parts are being molded."

Unbelievable.

So the batteries are ready, the plastic body is ready. So the inverter is the problem?

To be "fair and balanced", here's what Paul has to say about the VML delay:

"No serious problem has occurred. 2500 inverter have been made and are ready to ship. We requested and have received 10 sample in each voltage for final evaluation. No problems found. 2500 batteries are finished and have been tested. All housing and other molds have been received and approved. Two very minor hole sizes are being changed now. The molder is quoting Nov 27 to finish final detailing on mold and to produce 10,000 pieces. The battery factory cannot do final assembly of the batteries into the molded housings until the housings are received, then they will come to us by air freight and we will begin final assembly.

The mid to late November projection was made two months ago and, yes, we are two to three weeks late. The cause for the delay is the need to do minor mold modifications . . . a 15 day process."

Here's what my response was, thanks to a very keen eye and a bright mind among us. (His name shall stay secret unless he chooses to reveal himself. Hehe.)

But you said...

Oh well, at least it's just the mold. I'll keep my fingers crossed the inverter vendor don't screw anything up.

I know your source, Sean. I was *really* tempted to toss that quote you cited back at PCB. I'm glad you did since you're already marked as a hater.
