Took the new 70-200 and just did some quick tests shots since this is such a talked about lens. All were shot in Raw, no sharpening.

70mm: Full / 100%

One thing I would note is that even though the 200mm shot looks soft, you have to think about the pixel density verses the others.

Here are the distances:

70mm- ~6ft
135mm- ~7ft
200mm- ~12ft

The 200mm shot might be soft because it is 1/60

I don't mind watermarking an image to help identify the ownership. But what I'm more amused is that you felt the need to watermark the image in a way as if it's something worth stealing and reposting. ;)

I mean if it was a product shot in a lightbox... or something more fancy... ;) But I'm with Mike on this one... 1/60 might explain the softness on the 200 image.

When I upload to my site, it automatically watermarks it for me, so in reality i wasnt trying to avoid anything here. Just threw them up and didnt think about it. If you would want un watermarked ones, Ill post em. I could care less in this instance.

Don't take them off on account of me. I was just remarking that I found it amusing. My 70-200 II is sitting here next to me at the moment... It's one sassy lookin' beast.

It has a different feeling to it compared to the mk I. I feel like the mk I felt more of a solid tank, verses the mk II that is like a pretty (looks) solid tank...

also right off the bat i noticed that the zoom and focus rings are designed differently. either way this lens is exactly what i expected it to be. I have a big football game to shoot tomorrow so ill post some examples here from that.

Thanks for the shots. It would be great if you could comare the Mark II against your Mark I if you still have it. Maybe some outdoor images between the two lenes would be worth shooting for us. Congrats on the new lens....

Nice Bobby, can't wait to see how yours doing. I had a chance to shoot it the first time last night on the MKIII and got some great results. But I'll wait until you get yours and chat up more.

No problem. I think it is coming in Tuesday. I selected free shipping, maybe I should have paid $10 or so to get it faster.
