I called Mike at CDW.COM and he gave me a corperate discount of $1315. Not too bad. If any of you want this price let me know...he is receiving 275 on thursday the 10th and 165 are already sold. 2nd day shipping is only like 20 bucks. if anyone is interested i will list his number. the kicker is...i dont know how he was able to give me a corporate discount...i ordered it for myself! And my company never orders anything from CDW. We may have to start with those prices.

Thanks for the info. I would be interested in the number. The CDW website lists it at 1499. I just purchased one from Gateway and ended up at $1430 with tax. If CDW doesn't charge tax I will buy from them.

with these prices its amazing people still pay 1200 for a used d60. I have on order a 10D from dell for 1309 but tax makes it an even 1400 dollars. I wonder if CDW charges tax in florida.

Do you know "mike's" extention by any chance?
Did you have to haggle or did he offer the rate right off?

This sort of discount could really help me justify this kind of expensive purchase!

THe only problem with Dell and Gateway and some of the other stores is that despite that you are getting a good price, you may have to wait a good while before you get your camera...

Has anyone in here placed an order with Dell or Gateway for a 10D and received it quicker than they expected? Quick meaning perhaps in less than 7-10 days?

B&H rulz!

MIKE DITTRICH 1-877-536-3383. he is shipping mine tomorrow and will have it for monday at the latest...THIS IS A CORPORATE DISCOUNT. However the only thing i ever bought thru CDW was a modem hub for like $175. Tell him you own a business and use your home address as your buseness address.

Thanks, got a 10D ordered for $1370. The only downer is, a few minutes after hanging up, the salesman called back to say that tomorrows shipment size has been reduce by canon, and the next shipment won't be until the end of the month. Still, at that price, I really can't complain, and I can always spend the next few weeks looking for a better price.

Same story here. Got it for $1370. Supposedly it will be shipped by the end of the month. I don't mind the wait. I'll look for lower prices and I'm still waiting for a Sigma lens to come back from retrofitting to work on the 10D.

Do you know if they will ship to Canada? That would save me about $700.00 Canadian or $2.00 US

Let me know

I too placed an order from CDW and got a real corporate discount on a corporate account for $1356.00. It was supposed to ship yesterday, I got the call today that it would be at least till the end of the month. Petty good price!

My CDW Rep quoted me $1,329.00 and it seemed good to me compared to most web shops, so I committed. Glad to see users here consider this a good price too!

My order's #179 of #230 which are due in April 30th (as of 1026 hrs Central US).

good to see someone get hard data on the how many are ordered:how many are expected ratio. I'm hoping I'm in the low 100's. My theory is canon will stretched thin everywhere to try and satisfy demand, thus many retailers will see reduced shipments. I want to be close enough to the head of the line that I'll still get my camera. I know the people who ordered from dell and gateway and saw similiar savings have seen nothing but delays. I understand some of them have been told to expect shipment in june. If thats how its going to be, thats fine, but I'd like to know now so I can cancel my order and start looking for one at $1499 a little sooner.

I canceled my CDW 10D order. Couldn't wait the lead time - have stuff to shoot next week. A friend told me that select BestBuy's had just gotten in 3-5 per store. 2 of 3 stores I called were sold out by 10:00 a.m. and one held it for me to pick up. You have to call and have them do a manual stock check because they aren't advertised yet (as of the 14th).

BB price matches, but they're currently selling the 28-135mm IS USM for $690.00 while a few local shops have it on the shelf for $497.00. The 10D sells for the current B&M standard $1499.99.
