Now that the weather is getting colder, I have a bunch of Jays porking out on Peanuts. Fun to watch these characters. I shot these from the kitchen window Sat. morning. First a Steller's Jay.:D

Hi Steve... lovely shots of both birds, the Stellar has grown to be one of my favorite birds you post.. a true characters by their look :) But that second shot is an exceptional pose and the colors and light are striking... nice work as usual my friend.
As I mentioned to Bret, I have been on hiatus from my ridge since it is infested with deer hunters for two weeks... a forced vacation, so I have been working on other projects... I have taken a few shots in my yard and have been processing some shots from the first part of Nov.. a snow storm going on here at the moment... so it is looking a lot like winter....

Hunting season is happening here too, so I've been staying out of the woods. I've had appointments every week in town, 90 miles away so not much shooting for me. I have a large flock of Jays in the yard and they sure do take over the feeders. Only a pound of peanuts in a few hours, good thing I'm at work or else it would be 10 pounds of peanuts. I will leave here in Dec. for a couple of months and hope to shoot some birds in California. Winter always seems to come to soon for me. Not my favorite time of the year. Thanks for the nice comments db, stay warm!:D
