Just bought a NEC MultiSync P221W monitor for my macbook pro. How do I get what's on my laptop screen to the monitor screen? I have the cable connected correctly. Just don't know what to do next. Manual is not very clear. I know I'm not doing something right.

I have all the cables connected correctly, I think. My mouse works on the monitor, but I can't get what's on my laptop screen to the monitor.

So, the external monitor is showing the default OS X background? You can just drag apps to the screen with the mouse cursor.

Vickie, I hope you got the Spectraview II calibration system with your NEC P221w. If not, you'll be calibrating it at the video card only, a wasted investment in a fine monitor.
