Not sure if this is in the wrong spot. Please forgive me if it is. What do you all think. This is Virginia City Cemetery.

This is a great example of why I usually don't comment on the many wonderful pictures that everyone posts on the site. I really get tired of saying, great shot. There is just so much talent here.

Then one like this comes along where all the elements that make it a money shot comes together.

Holy Cow! The shadows, the structure, the composition, the subject matter and the sub elements with the hills and the hard light... WOW!

Wow! Thank you for the kind words? It means so much to hear this from a fellow shutterbug.

I'd echo Weps sentiments, a photograph where everything comes together.
I don't comment on half the great work I see on this forum, which is a pitty because there is so much deserving of comment.

Not a bad conversion, your lucky to get comments here about B&W, i've tried it and get just about nothing on B&W here......maybe they ought to have a B&W section on its own....??

What makes is the gravestones appear more alive than the landscape. The dead trees and grass make the headstone come alive, or defiant of the passage of time.

Works for me.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional

I agree. I posted a B/W and had one comment.

Most of us have a bias toward color and don't always appreciate B & W as much. In this case, I think we all have a great admiration for your beautiful work.

You should definitely try and go back for some night shots! That would make it even more eerie.

(I don't need to say how great it is since everyone else has that covered :) )

A really good photo, brings out the real grim you would expect from cemeteries in movies.

Keep up the good work!

Thank you all for the comments. I have one more from this same shoot, but had too much polorization (is this a word) in the sky. So the sky came out black.
