.......also posted this at FM incase you think your seeing things...LOL
I was just over on the Canon site reading up on the new "picture styles" on the "N". They showed a picture of the new menu & settings, then I noticed that the Standard mode (which is supposed to give sharp / contrasty jpg's) had a sharpness setting of 3, as to where the mode that was for post processing (forget what it's called) was set at 0.
So here's my thinking.........Is this just a sales angle to sucker us guys that hated the soft / flat jpg's of the 1Dmk2 into buying this "N" because they say the jpg's are better? Seems to me that the old 1Dmk2 also had a sharpness / Saturation setting of 3........and setting those on 3 still did not get as sharp jpg's as my 20D..........hmmm....might have just saved myself 4 grand.
Is the overall sharpening better? Or does +3 get you the same sharpness on the "N" as it does the old mk2, and is Canon just making us think it's supposed to be shaper just because they added new names to the menu..........very interesting?????
