I really like the last one, very much of the cinematographic photography vein. The third one is enjoyable too. Accordingly I checked out both blog posts. Haven't ever photographed stills but (after this post especially) I think I'd quite enjoy doing so - certainly wouldn't turn it down should the opportunity arise ...

You already have your foot in the door with performance photos. Just keep an eye out for indy film crew calls on Craigslist or etc.

Most of the time, smaller productions (shorts, experimental, music videos) don't really need stills per-se, and as such, are usually fine with someone hopping on and working for free. It's a good way to meet people in the business and learn how to work around everyone else.

Who knows, you might meet Alex Bailey. He's from the UK and pretty mother****ing hardcore.

You make a very good point. I actually hadn't thought of this branch of the Arts industry as one I might venture into ...
