Auckland Harbour Sundown

Both charming... can't complain about those. Second one stretches interest out more across with width, which is good, but the totally-black sail's less interesting than the reddish rendering above. From that camera angle, the all-important interest created by the layering of mid and background is concentrated in a very narrow strip through the image, but the tall building prevent a much tighter crop. Would be interesting to see the same scene from a more elevated camera position, but that might not have been on offer. The horizon needs a straightening too.

I would pop the contrast a bit on both. Not nearly as much on #2 compared to one.

I agree with Tonydee on the interest in #2. It pulls you along the entire image.

Nicely done. Did you photo stitch multiple shots or just crop that way? Both are nice. The sailboats added a nice touch.

Thanks for comments. They are both single images cropped. They were taken from a boat so there is no way to increase elevation at all. Point taken about the horizon too.
Photo #2 is my favourite too.

Both images are interesting to me. The foreground for #2 is better than #1 as the boats are better subjects, but I like the background of #1 more.
