Here is the straightened original for reference. I like it but I'm going to have to work it to get something worthwhile.

The B&W is the best of the two, but the photo lacks a subject.

B&W, and I like this Joe..would a little smudge more contrast make a difference?

I prefer the original colour version, the b/w just seems so much cooler.

Thanks
How's this one to twist a screw or two ... if you can't find the subject you're probably looking at it

Here's a version based on Flo and Corkney observations

Think you need something in the foreground... or less fog so the closest trees are a bit more clear.

IMO there's not a lot of interest in the shot. Meaning there's not much of a subject in the shot.

I really like the last one Joe.I think people are looking too hard for something when the fog is all around them.:)

Personally I am still looking for the subject :)

I honor the POV of the commentators here and wanted to start a dialog on subject vs interest but perhaps this is not the place to do that. Everyone is entitled to their perspective and in some photography schools if the subject isn't handed to you visually in the first 3 seconds the photograph is considered a tosser. Personally I prefer a mystery and impressionist (if you can call it that) qualities in an image. It's all about light.

I like the first one best, though a combo of #1 and #3 would be great (a bit more of the orange) and a bit of sharpening of the reflection?

Interesting topic regarding subject. My eye was happy looking at the image and I felt like you took me to that spot with you. Good enough for me!

I rather like the last one posted. I like the mood of the shot and the variation of light, dark and reflection in the lake.
