I've not really tried this level of fix before, so I'd like other opinions please. Is the fix believable? Any and all suggestions/opinions welcome.

Thanks.

Looks legit to me... Do you have a full picture without just the mouth crop?

Yes, it looks believable to me. I would however have left a little more gum between the two middle teeth. Also be careful not to go overboard with such editing, in order to avoid completely changing a persons image.

What were you fixing ? I actually prefer the one up top--though I don't know if that is the before or after.

I've been looking at this recently as well...

I think the top set are fine and normal. If anything you could clean the edges up a tad.

The second set, whilst neater, actually make the person look like they have really long, square teeth and look unnatural...

Jusst my 2p.

Thanks and I think you're right about the two middle teeth.

The top is before, I don't know why anyone would add gumline and a little tartar, but..... ;) Retouching for a glamor type shot to give her the caps/overlay-whatever perfectly straight teeth look that models pay for.

Thanks. Good suggestion.

I agree that there is nothing at all wrong with the top set, other than a little tartar that can easily be fixed. I'm trying the look that a lot of models/celebs pay for with their teeth.

I also agree with Will. But it's a good retouching exercise for when an image REALLY needs help.

I have so much tartar, I dont have to dip my fishsticks in ****.

Anyway, I also prefer the top set. The bottom set looks good on Olympic figure skaters with bad knees or an anorexic teen pop stars.

Yep, I'll probably work a little more on it. Basically, it was an exercise as I'd never attempted to get the "perfect teeth" look before.

Don't do it. The first pic looks like a healthy set of teeth with good gums, the second just looks like bleached teeth with some form of periodontitis (receeding gums)

as a dentist, I will say the first pic looks more natural.
