I just recently shot a family session with some fall colors left. However, I chose to do some B&W and some muted color. Please tell me what you think about them? Thanks!

3 and 5 are super.

For some reason in number 4 I think if the adults legs were going the same direction the picture would be more attractive. It looks sorta busy. Still nice!

Thanks...as for the legs..I kinda agree, but when a family is walking towards you and the little boy leans down to sister, there was no getting the right pose...I just chose the moment over the pose.

I think these are dynamite, really. My only suggestion is for the last shot, and it is a minor detail which would really only matter in a different shot. That is: look at mom's arms in that last shot. They are bent in a weird position that is unnatural and not flattering. Since she is an adult, you can easily direct her to bend her elbows IN. I know she is leaning on them that way for support and in this "grab the moment" shot, you don't have time for that picky detail nonsense. Don't miss my point here, I"m not saying you should have directed her arms elsewhere, I'm just saying that is a detail you want to watch for in OTHER shoots, where it might actually matter.
I think the clothing choice is great. Simple, not distracting, and it separates them nicely from the background. I especially love the first shot, how you used the backlight to outline them so beautifully. The choice of that couch is unexpected and I love it!!!
Great work, Jmalonear!!!

Thank you very much! I see exactly what you are referring to with her arm. And those are things I am starting to pay closer attention to...just haven't mastered that yet..lol I definitely will be looking out for that in the future!

Nice set. For me, the first one would be better if the feet weren't cut off. WHile I love the bright fall colors, it appears to me that in some images the family's faces are reflecting too much of the orange tones...but that could be because of my cheap work monitor! I'm sure the family was very happy.

Like all of the shots. I don't like the B/W conversion #$1 as much though. Do you have a color or muted version?

Love the isolation of the subject and background-so sharp and background blur- hope I can get that right someday!! It is the black and white one.

The muted ones are stunning as well. What makes them "muted". How do you get to that? LOVE it

I do have a color version, but due to the sun glare spot, the color didn't seem to work for me.

Thank you all for the comments!!
