The 17 TS-E is truly a winner when it comes to IQ. Even though this lens doesn't take filters, it makes it up in capturing detail. C&C appreciated. Thanks! :)

Nice - I prefer the tilt shift shot in your other thread :D

Thank you Nepali. I appreciate the feedback.

Thanks Martin. :smile:I know you love to shoot landscapes but, this lens is totally worth it. There is no CA and the flare performance is unbelievable. Plus, this lens takes filters and that's a big plus!

From the last thread, you mentioned it takes filters, in this thread you say it does not?

Hehe! Thanks Martin. :) The 17 TS-E and 24 TS-E MK II are differrent types of lenses. Both have the capabilities of TS but, is different in front elements.
The 17 TS has a large bulbous front and is not capable of using filters. The 24 TS II has a filter diameter of 82mm. :)

This shot really works for me, better than the other. It is sharp from front to back.

Thanks Stan. Both lenses have the capability to give that miniature effect as in my previous post. With this perspective, I decided to maximize my DOF. The perspective you see here was not possible with a lens like my 16-35. The issues I ran into was extreme perspective distortion. Something that was really a pain to fix in post. With the proper adjustments using the TS mechanism, the perspective is corrected. Say goodbye to using lens correction/cropping in PS! :)

Great pics Julian, did you get both 17 and 24 ts? That would be a killer setup.

Nice and sharp front to back, Julian...f/16 I notice. Like someone else has mentioned, I much prefer this to the other that you posted with the 24 TSE...the foreground blur was a bit distracting in that one. This one is sharp as a tack...

Thanks Mike.:) I know some don't like that miniature looks with these lenses but, it was worth trying since it has that capability.
I'm going to try and rig a DIY filter holder for the 17 TS. I've seen a few images online done with the Big Stopper and GND. You just have to keep in mind that it will have limitations. :)
