On Amazon: Both the lens and printer rebates are effective again.

T2i and 18-55mm IS Lens
$849

Canon 55-250mm IS Lens
$210 - $200 Rebate = $10

Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II Printer
$449.99 - $400 Rebate = $49.99

$908.99 for the whole package but it looks like the printers are still selling for $175-$200 pretty easily, bringing the net cost of the camera with two IS lenses down to about $725 or so.

Availability and exact costs are changing by the minute, so order first and ask questions later!

Replacing my Canon 7D, Tokina 12-24mm, Canon 17-55mm, Sigma 30mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4, and 150-500mm with a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000. I still have the 17-55 and the 30 available for sale.

I always thought the market was too saturated with the printers, but I guess they keep selling.

Just wish the printer had an actual rebate and not the prepaid Amex card.

You can spend it like cash, what's the difference? If you need actual cash, just pocket your grocery/gas money and use the Amex card on those.

Err the printer is about $150 after you ship it :). It's a heavy printer.

Is that Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II printer any good? Canon has been giving this away ($400 rebate) with DSLR packages since last Jan.

You got my curiosity up so I took a look at eBay. It looks like there is still a good market for new-in-box Pixma Pro 9000 II's with several selling every day and not too many go unsold.

The prices are all over the board with one recently selling at $132, another selling at $219 and a whole bunch everywhere in between. These two didn't include shipping but one at $229 did. So, it's a gamble - count on getting somewhere in between $130 and $220 if you want to sell the printer.

Or don't buy the printer at all. You'll save not having to wait weeks for a large sum of money in the form of a rebate AMEX card to eventually show up in the mail, and also not have to deal with the hassle of trying to sell the printer if you don't plan to keep it.

And you call yourself a consumer? Ha! ;)

Personally, I couldn't resist a $450 printer for $50, particularly when you can net about $125 with about 15 minutes of effort to put it on eBay.

Having to wait 6-8 weeks for my original $400 to eventually show up in the mail and then selling the printer on eBay that leaves more waiting for Paypal to pony up a possible $125? No thanks. ;)

But hey, good luck!

Just kidding. It's hard not to make jokes about my tendency to turn bargain hunting into a sport. (Although I am pleased to have put together a bunch of camera equipment that I couldn't have justified if I had paid full price.)

Anyway, I'm hoping that some of this information gets a couple of people into cameras that they ordinarily couldn't have otherwise afforded.
