The lens would mount on the camera OK, but there would be noticeable vignetting (dark circle around the image) because the lens is designed for APS-C format cameras and not the APS-H or the so-called "full-frame" cameras.

lens is designed with the crop factor of 1.55 (not exactly 1.5 or 1.6 b/c it has to fit both nikon and canon =D).
It probably will be ok with some range but not so with others.

You'll get solid black vignetting (the kind that you can't correct in PP).
Zoomed all the way in you might be able to get away with it, but there must be a lot better options than a 50mm 2.8 IS.
