Looking at this HP Pavilion dv7t for $909. What do you guys think?

That's a good price compared to UK prices, they're £900 ($1,431.91) over here.

I paid £1300 for a HP DV8 and the only difference I can see is a 1" bigger screen and 140gb harddrive space , I'd say you're on a winner.

The spec's wowed me until I got to the battery and screen. For serious photo work, I'd skip it. It just doesn't have enough going for it... HP has the worst customer support and satisfaction numbers, they skimped on the screen and a six cell battery for a 17" i7 laptop is a joke. I know it also comes with a 9 cell, but I will guarantee you won't get more than an hour out of it while editing photos, if you're lucky. There's a reason it's so cheap. Asus, Toshiba, Apple, Lenovo and Sony are all better choices.
