The UAE F-16 block 60's have been training here in Tucson for a few years now. Today the last three left for their home country. Sad to see them go but at least I have the photos of them leaving.

That is a lot of external storage too. Nice shots. Any idea who dragged them across the pond? Did they bring their own tanker?

The UAE does not have a tanker so that is why they have the conformal tanks on the top. The wing tanks are extra large 600 gallon tanks vs. the regular 370 gallon tanks and then you have the standard 300 gallon center line tank. This is enough fuel to get them to the east coast, refuel then head to Iceland where they will refuel again and then finally to the UAE.

Nope those are standard F-16 tanks.

Nice shots BTW! Sad to see them go. Hope you got other pics of them prior to their ultimate departure.

No not standard they are the 600 gallon tanks. Same ones carried by the F-15. Normally we only load up 370 gallon tanks. I've worked on F-16's for quite some time now.

Really nice. It's really amazing what the F16 can carry.

They weren't based out of Luke AFB with all the other F-16's?

Where in Tucson? Davis Monthan? Is that even an active base anymore?
