I photographed these girls last year for their Christmas cards... they have grown so much!

Mom had them all dressed up this year... :D

Little sister had to imitate big sister with the hands....

Just a few to share... tons more to work on... it was a fast session as the sun was going down quick.

Thought I would attempt a flare shot...even though I'm not a fan of flare shots for the most part. After shooting this one... still not a fan. LOL

Thanks for looking.
Hatch

I am not a fan of flare shots either...the first two are beautiful!

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Thank you Maureen. I've seen a few flare shots the past couple of years where I thought it did add something to the image... a feeling a look... but.. to me (no one take this personal if you love flare) I hate them for the most part. I think it tends to be distracting and takes away from the subject. Not something I want my clients to look at 20 years from now and wish they could see their children behind the flare. About every 10 years I try liver... just to remind myself how much I hate liver. LOL... I think I will put flare shots on the same time line.

Thanks again!
Hatch

LOL, I totally agree with you. I did a wedding last year where they asked for some flare shots. I hated the outcome but they loved them.

I understand trends.. and I understand $/sales drive them. Vintage tints.... flare...crazy borders... and so on.... I think people love them in the moment. It's the future that concerns me. As I mentioned... I don't want my clients looking at my/our work down the road and wondering why the subject is tinted green or has a giant flare in the image. I/we(Kristy S) like a nice clean/polished look ...something they can enjoy for many years to come. I could go on and on... :)

Thanks again!

One of the reasons I admire your work.

I think these work really well. Not a fan of the large white border though.

Thanks :) Border is just to have a place for the logo... clients prints will not have it on there. :)

I also like clean, clear, crisp photos. I agree with you about the long run...... I print on Premium Epson paper that says it will maintain it's color and clarity for 200 years! That means the photos can be enjoyed for many generations and that is important to me. And, I hope, my clients. :)

Archival paper is a good thing! :)
