Frank's new ride

So I found out that the graphite Street Triple R I had shot a month or two ago had been totalled by the owner's father. When he got the insurance check from it, he went out and bought himself a brand new 2010 Street Triple R, this time in Matte blazing orange. Since this was his last week with it at school before taking it home, I had to go out and get pictures.

He thinks the bike looks like Wall-E, hence the license plate.

Interesting shots. In #6, couldn't you have covered up that structure in the back by moving the bike a little?

You mean the wall? Or the building behind the wall that rises up a bit? That was on top of the school's new parking garage. I know how much you hate parking garages, but the sun was going down and it was getting cold so we left the river. I was a bit pressed for time on this one as he's taking the bike home on Friday. Seeing as how I'm graduating in December, this was my only shot at his new bike.

Let me try and clone out that building in post.

I love that bike. I test rode the same one over the summer to compare to my Daytona 675. Thanks for the praises.

I know I know, but the light was fading fast and I was trying to get the shots in before the light disappeared. If I had more time I would have done more angles and or moved the bike some.

He's gotta get some Akrapovices for that bike ... My brother in law has a white one ... Those akrapovic slip ons sound so good when you get the dB killers out !!!!! + They look way better then the original ones.

I really like nr 5 ... I should try that one !

For some reason, on my calibrated monitor, I don't see orange. Every shot looks red to me.

Good stuff. The crop on the last one is a bit weird though... a little too left heavy.

The local dealership where he bought it is going to give him 20% off on some pipes so he's going to get new ones over the winter I believe.

Yeah, I'm on a 4 1/2 year old tablet PC which is literally falling apart. Not exactly calibrated or a good screen at all. I gotta go back and re-do all of the edits to get it back to orange.

I'm so bummed. I was walking into work today and a local guy in town had his orange Lamborghini and was pulling away right when I pulled up. I wanted to try and see if he'd let me shoot it.

Sorry, didn't mean for you to re-do, they just didn't look very orange to me. Good shots though.

No, people on a few different forums (this and 2 motorcycle forums) have pointed it out as well. Now I can't see anything but red. Before I thought it looked a little darker than normal, but still was partially orange. Now I can't unsee the red so it needs fixed. These were quick edits. Most of it is out of camera. I just play with the first tab's stuff for raw files, adjust levels maybe, add a high pass filter for sharpening and then call it good. I think the shot with the solo bike and black background I did a small bit of burning to get rid of a backpack that somehow made it into the shadows but was still visible.

And once I get a real job after I graduate next month I will be getting a better computer. This one is pissing me off, and my netbook is great for web browsing but not for photo editing. Still not sure which route I want to go: Buy PC, Build PC, buy refurbished iMac.
