It came with the camera or the upgrade over the net. I really don't see much use for the program other than the fact that you plug the camera in and it downloads your photo's automatically. I then have to close it and open EOS Viewer as the images are all RAW.

It installed under Canon Utilities and I am using the 20D.

You don't need to do that. You just need to go into EOS Viewer Utility and grab the image folder on the CF Card in the camera and drag it to where-ever on your PC you want the images to go.

I prefer to use a card reader though since the camera is on for the entire transfer process, so if you do it alot your battery life is significantly reduced. Also, if you fill up a bunch of cards it seems silly to me to use the camera as a card reader when you can get a real one for next to nothing. And you need a card reader anyway to be able to do a firmware update.

Does your card reader work with the micro-drive? I have a notebook computer with a built in slot for four card types but the compact flash is not recognized. I also have a PC Card adapter which does work with the typical compact flash card but not with the micro-drive.

Unfortunately for now I just plug the camera in when I use the micro-drive. Battery is typically not a problem as I have the grip with two batteries installed.
