So this:

TT5 (external link)

Plus what recievers? plus 2's?

Yes, those.

The TT5 is a transceiver, meaning it can be either a transmitter or a receiver. The MiniTT1 is a transmitter only and can save you some money. You can get 3 TT5 tranceivers, or 2 TT5 and a MiniTT1 for your camera. Lots of people prefer to get all FlexTT5.

The "Plus II" was the workhorse of many photogs. They were reliable, but now many cheaper triggers have sprung up. Mostly pros who can't afford a misfire still buy the Plus II's. Like I said, they're simple triggers and don't send ETTL info.

Cool i see. Well i want to use TTL i think it will be usefull if not now in the future.

So if i get the following:

1x MINI TT1 for my cam (5d)

2x TT5's for the flashes

And TTL will work fine using that setup?

Sounds expensive but is that correct?

Yes, that looks good. At some point, you might want to add in the AC3 Zone Controller.

I should also warn you that the 580exII puts out some RF noise in the operating frequency of the PW. This interference reduces the range of the triggers. It's not as bad of a problem in Europe as it is in the US. Some US users have fried their 580exII and it's somewhat been deduced to some kind of problem with the supplied AC5 sock. Your 430exII should work perfect with the triggers since this flash puts out almost no interference. You might not even need to use the sock on your 580exII, but I thought you should know.

Thanks for that, i apreciate it. I hope its not an issue, i would like them to work around 3-4 metres away. Is there a comparison site with examples of ETTL vs Non TTL style shots or is it more just a method of control?

It's just a method of control. Some people don't like ETTL since they want complete control over the light. If you're just shooting in a studio, you're controlling the light 100%. In this case a light meter and some simple triggers would work fine. If you're on location and the light changes, you'd have to go to each flash and change the settings (possibly multiple times). This is where ETTL is handy...fast changes and somewhat of a remote control. It's nice to have that ability, even if you don't always use it. Add that AC3 and you can dial in settings even better.

I don't know anything about UK shops or pricing, but looks like Robert White (external link) has a good package deal on them.
