How do I know which 20D body I should sell?

I replaced one of my 20D bodies yesterday, and intend to sell one of my 20D bodies.

What can I look for to decide which one is better/worse so I can decide which one to sell? Since 20D's don't count actuations . . .

Even if you did know the actuation, it doesn't guarantee you much. One could last for 150k and the other could die at 50k....you just never know with shutters.

If both function the exact same, just flip a coin. LOL

Sell the one that looks better cosmetically.

The 20D is quite an old camera by now, so get what you can for both and buy at least a 40D or better.

They are old, but they still do good work. I put more money into my lenses and lighting. I did upgrade one of the 20D bodies to a 40D, I'm just looking for help to decide which of the two to sell.

And thanks for the info everyone, Im going to find a nice coin to flip to help me decide!

Depends...*I* would sell the one that's cosmetically less perfect...I like my equipment to be in minty-mint condition, and would rather make a few bucks less (it's a 20D...the difference between a mint one and a beat up one is like 50 bucks haha) and look at a beautiful body all day than make 50 bucks more and look at scrapes and scratches every time I pick it up.

If you don't care about cosmetics, sell the nicer one...it'll net you more moolah in your pocket

I agree about the performance of the 20D and I didn't mean to diss the camera in my previous post. However, they don't fetch much nowadays and I thought you might do well to sell before much longer, especially as 40D's are so reasonable.

I have a 20D in my arsenal which I won't sell simply because I wouldn't get much for it and I may eventually give it to a friend.

I agree, I might get $250 for the body if I'm lucky, but I limit the money I spend on gear to the money I make from it, otherwise I would get carried away like no other. So that extra cash is money towards a new lens or new body which I plan to get in the spring. Looks like I'll just sell the prettier one to fetch like $7.86 extra.

Set both in the same place, with the same lighting and the same lens. Take a few pictures of an open book with each, both with identical settings. Put the files on screen (computer) 200% and see which is better file.

Take each outside sunny day, photograph a blue section of the sky at f22.. Puts files on screen (computer) 200% see which is cleaner. ( less spots ).

Keep the sharper cleaner, sell the other.

I'm embarrassed to have not thought of that, they both always performed really well, so it didn't cross my mind, thanks!
