Hey, I just found my Hoya R72 filter in my old camera bag. I'll be playing around with this the next couple of days...

Join the party. :) I just ordered a 720nm myself (on top of the 850nm), this thread needs some filling!

Point it at something pretty, throw on a filter, and expose away! Be wary of flare though - I'm not sure if this is specific to the long exposures on my 850nm or not, but lens flare becomes quite aggressive...

That's one reason why I converted a G11... that way I can carry my usual gear and have a pocket IR camera that produces pretty good images...

Playing around with my interchanagle infrared Camera, an EOS 350D / Rebel XT and one of my tilt lenses - suppose it was made with B&W 093:

Beautiful. How are you getting such deep, vibrant blues? I suspect there's a channel swap going on but I don't get such blues when I do the swap. Are you adding a mask of some type?

It looks like the #093 is a 650nm filter, which means that quite a lot of color is being let in...Which makes me think there was some heavy masking/PSing going on. Which also makes me think I should do that more often, because it is an AMAZING shot.

Here's my attempt at greatness with an 850nm, although I'm not grabbing skies of that color just yet...

Just wanted to comment that the #093 is a 830nm filter. Doesn't take away from the image, as I agree it's a great piece!

It is? That means I'll have to work harder on the post in my own images then! Although I did get that number from the Amazon page on it, but Googling would prove you to be correct!

Hmm. Food for thought when editing my next batch of IR shots then - I've been feeling they're a bit underexposed.

The only reason I knew that was because I happened to own it. :) If your talking about those flare shots being underexposed, personally i like the way they look. It's something different from the usual, and what i like about shooting in IR spectrum.

For those interested, I'm selling my converted 20d here:

https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1069745

I decided to convert my 50D into full spectrum for other IR wavelengths as well as visible light photography.

Oh, don't tempt me...

My 720nm filter came in today. Everything is coming out WAY too orange. As in so orange that white balance can't even fix it. There aren't even two colors to be swapped, it's just a mass of orangeness. I did some googling and found out that some flters let in wavelengths a bit lower than 720nm, and since orange is right next to red it can cause this effect. After doing some reading and finding that you're supposed to get pink/magenta + white, I think I'll email the seller and ask for a replacement. I really wanted to get into shooting with the 720 too. =\
