What's would make that awkward to put up with? The crane holds the loupe in place so that you can hold it to your eye and manually focus using LV while hand holding the camera. If you have a camera with Magic Lantern running you can use the focus assist and LV histogram to dial in exposure and focus on the fly too. The ergonomics aren't much different than normal, and after a few minutes you don't even notice (other than the focus peaking, which can be more reliable than the precision focusing screen in my 5D2 ;) )

I see you mentioned ML. I happen to have ML on my 50D. :D IR HD video here I come. I'll have to look into this crane thing you also mention.

This is the crane I was talking about (the loupe is different than what you buy separately):http://www.amazon.com …TF8&qid=1333507353&sr=8-2 (external link)

I'm not entirely sure of the cutoff for the filter I'm using. I'm using a converted T2i/550D with a Lifepixel Super Color IR filter. Basically the images come out of the camera slightly blue (and actual blue tends to be slightly red/orange). They don't say on their site however what the wavelength cutoff is for the filter.

Super Color IR Filter = equivalent to 590nm Filter.

Love the eye in the first shot.

If anyone uses Lightroom here and swaps between a normal camera and an Infrared one on a regular basis, I have just posted a thread thats helped me apply different profiles based on the camera serial number.

Link to thread

This way images from my infrared camera are processed on import differently to images from my normal camera.

Might be useful fo someone.
Cheers.

Two from my recent trip to the woods that turned out ok. For some reason I was getting quite a bit of flaring that day on most shots, even with the hood. Didnt show up in the viewfinder at all. One of those quirks with IR.
