Last year I made up about 75 press printed cards to give to friends, family and a few good customers, but the cost was rather high.

This year im thinking of going with a simpler card, and sending those out. I want something tasteful and classy, but the only cards im coming up with are ones in stores and those are a bit boring.

I was wondering where you all get your cards that you send to clients. Do you get them specially printed or is there a stock card supplier that you really like?

Take a look at Mpix. A few different options, great quality and service, and reasonably priced.

Moo.com has a few interesting selections. I ordered mine there.

Im trying to get each card in the 25 cent range. I went with WHCC 5x7 cards last year, think I paid about $1.25 each. Basically looking for bulk classy cards suitable for customers. :)

Bulk or classy, pick one.

Actually, inexpensive or classy, pick one.

You will find that most of the inexpensive swag shops out there aren't of the highest quality.

Yeah I'm not sure those two features will be associated with the same card.

I'm a fan of sending clients custom folding cards, something with my work on it. If you are sure you want to send in the low end, you could design a few 4x6 prints and have them printed at the local drugist. Put them in an envalope and mail them.

Not the way I would go though. Good clients always expect the best out of you and sending less than that, is worse than not at all. IMO anyway.

Either way time is starting to short end.

Order pre-scored card stock from Red River and put one of your images on the front.

I do this, and print each one custom with a ps action, using a pic that the customer purchased during the year. The customers really like these, I've seen them shown around months after Christmas.

Simply Color Lab has a great sale on press printed products through the end of the month.

I got my cards done through ACI. They have a BOGO through the end of the month. Their quality is killer. But, I still paid about $1ish with the sale for 5x7 folded pearl cards with their HD6C upgrade (almost photo realistic). I love the idea of the red river but I'm opting for the card and slipping in a 5x7 calendar with their favorite image in it. There is the saying it costs more to get a new client than keep a current one so I'm not going to be stingy. =)

I used ezprints last year...I ordered directly through my smugmug account, but it looks like most of the same options are available on their actual website too. Very happy with the quality...definitely more costly than .75 cents though.

are there any local labs that might have deals going this time of year. There is one here where i live that will print 50 4x8s for $14.00. My clients love them because I make them affordable, and they come with envelopes.
