One nice thing about Craigslist is you can check out items in person (meet in a reasonably safe public place like a coffee shop or a bank lobby).....

I will never again read a mention about CL without thinking about Bucketman, 'though..... put me off for life!

Hi
I often look through all the forums to get an idea of what is happening, if you are starting out and want a good camera go for the 20d, I am glad I did and now that I have a couple of good lenses I am getting great shots.

Here is a guy selling a 20d on the forum, although a 30d would give you a bigger LCD. As he says put a 50mm 1.8 on and you are away.

I wouldn't recommend this camera, Looking at the picture it seems like the camera and lens are fairly dirty. Now that doesn't tell us if it's still functioning perfectly but too me that's just a big no-no. Look for a newer Rebel or a 20/30D. Maybe check out the used section at a local camera shop, those are a little more pricey usually.

Skip it. Look at the for sales section here on the message board. With $500, I can possibility get a 20D or 30D (with battery and charger included) with a kit lens. Or other slower glass.

i just missed out on a 10D.. yes i know old.. but with lense for $100!!! guy just sold it before i called.. grrrrrrrr got a friend that had his camera/lense stolen out of a cart when his wife was putting kids in car... so they grabbed it within 5 feet of her and she never knew.. and didnt see anyone around at all
