" Boasting 5K resolution, six times the resolution of HD video, and up to 120 frame per second shooting rates"
"EPIC provides a camera with a 14MP sensor capable of shooting from one frame to 120 frames per second"

Intresting 0.o

Is this the camera they used for the movie Gamer, or just from the same company?

No, it's not. The most sophisticated and capable cameras ever engineered and built are in low-earth orbit. Like RED, if you have enough money to spend, you can have a better camera built for you...and there's nothing like having a "black" national bucket of ducats to buy cameras with.

I did some reading on it over the weekend. If it's output is better tha the Red One, it would be like going from 5D to 1DmkIII.

I did find a few stills from it, which were pealed out of the video and they looked ok for no extra lighting. What was it, 30 fps till you get tired of shooting. Would be great for burst spurts. Scroll frame by frame and get the one just as the ball impacts the Bat, or the volleyball compresses from the slap.

Talk about a work flow jeeze!

Did they abandon the audio with this one like they should have with the Red One? Audio was a complete afterthought with the red One, I hope they did the audio input to this camera better than the first 20 or iterations of the Red One. Can you say, "Scratch Track?" :rolleyes"

I thought serious cinemetographers always captured audio seperately as it provides so much more freedom.

Now they have it at 5#'s, maybe not ready this year and the $53k is a deposit before they build you one.

How ever they configure it when they have it totally ready, I still not sure it will out perform some of the Still Cameras already out. However for anything with movement that is a new ball game, able to tag a section during filming and pull it from the strip during PP. Or any other frame you wish!
