that's weird. All the lens sites show the 18-55IS kit lens significantly better in image quality and resolution compared to the 28-135 and the f2.8 zooms like Canon, Tamron, sigma, etc. are even sharper! (for crop models)

Not a believer? - look for yourself - compare the Canon 55-250IS and the Canon 28-135 - big difference !!!!!!!

I sold the 17-40 and bought the 17-55. Worth every Penny. As walkaround I use the 17-55 and the 24-105.

Advise go to an shop and make some test shots with the lenses on your own body or beter hire à lens for .
