I have a wedding booked for this Saturday the 27th of Nov.
Contract signed for the amount of 300$ its low budget short and sweet and for a coworker who likes my work. She has seen just about everything i have done and she likes it so there ya go.
Well i didn't bother with a deposit which is normally just $50 for the day to save the date cause she is a co-worker kind of friend.
I work a second job as i am not a professional and my wife took off work that day also so i could do it. Its more of a hobby that i enjoy.
So now the wedding has been moved to the 26th "black Friday" at 2pm. I am already scheduled and my wife wont be home till 2pm anyways. So nope i cant do it unless i call off work, miss a full days pay which is roughly 100$
So she said well we can just do some photos on Saturday for the 8 hours. * hours of location photos? Also its roughly 40-50 degrees where we are right now.
Plus she said she doesn't have the money right now anyways and her soon to be husband asked her why she booked someone that charges so much. That was my first problem. Charges so much? I cut it in half for her to begin with. So basically if i do the shoot Saturday i going to go out on a limb and say i wont get paid at the end of the day which in the contract it says payment is do at the end of the scheduled shoot.
The contract is signed by both of us and scheduled for the 27th of Nov. at 2pm until 10pm. 8 hrs.
Any suggestions on what to do about it all?
Cut my loses and just get the $50 deposit? or try and get a little bit out of her and just do a small photoshoot for her on Saturday and at least try and cover my wife and my lost wages for our normal jobs?
