Great shot

Question, if you used the AB1600 at low power, why not use the Quadra = easier to lug on location.

Aurielle, Mother, Ryan, and I were meeting in a public building on campus to do 2 things.

  • talk about the upcoming wedding we were doing (Ryan is my second shooter) , talk about what location Aurielle and Josh wanted for Romantic shots, basically detail scouting.
  • the second half was to do a shoot for Aurielle

I had 2 compositions in mind for me for the photo shoot and Ryan had about 3-5 compositions.

I have worked with Aurielle twice now, so I was going to let Ryan and Aurielle work together to get better acquaintance.

My shot required a Beauty Dish because Aurielle’s skin is really good. So we had to select only the lights we needed.

Also Ryan shots could be done with the Softlighter II, so I brought the 60 inch Softlighter II with us. I don’t have a beauty dish for the quadra that meant no quadra for that night.

Our kit for lighting that night ended up being:

1 AB1600
4 speedlights
5 Cactus V4 triggers
1 60inch Softligher
1 42inch Softlighter
1 22 inch PCB Beauty dish with grid
1 white umbrella
2 vagabonds
1 A.C. Fan for hair movement
1 lightweight light stand
2 back packs of camera equipment
1 computer laptop like suitcase for triggers and speedlights

between Ryan and I , we had carry all of that to the building from the Outback..
though I thought about bring the quadra system, we ended up not bringing it.

Next shoot will probably be just the quadra and or radio poppers – ultra light weight kit..
