Was just wondering how much would it cost to fix the lens creep on my 24-105 L. I know the rubber band trick works too but sometimes the rubber band slips or doesn't successfully stop the lens from creeping as much without it.

No lens creep with mine. Just double-checked to make sure. How long have you had yours? I hope this isn't something I have to look forward to.

Sorry, guess this is not much help.

Here's my two cents:

Bought a 24-105L second-hand. Noted the (substantial) creep when I bought it, as pointed out by the seller. Brought it home and applied black electrical tape, lengthways, to each side of the inner barrel. Problem solved, no creep.

Probably cost about two cents.

THAT MUCH? Call an attorney, as a major undisclosed flaw in design by Canon has caused irreparable harm to your mental and physical health. This must be worth at least a few million bucks if properly presented to a jury! Handle this correctly, and you could end up with a great lens collection for free!;)

Isn't that what John Edwards did with Dow Corning. Should work on Canon too. I think Edwards is available these days! LOL

Mine does not creep yet, but I think in time it will start to.

From the factory, that zoom ring was TIGHT. Very tight. After I sent to Canon for calibration it came back much more lose, but no creep. Still no creep though after many months, so maybe it wont?

Mine is 6 years old and doesn't creep. Sometimes, I'm called a creep. The lens may develop creep, but I already have. And I'm proud of that! :p

Cool! Somebody from Alaska! Been to every state but yours, but it's still on my list. I still laugh at all the Texans that resent Alaska for being bigger! Babies!!!

Mine started creeping not too long ago. Was walking around with it on my neck pointed down and each time I'd go to pull it up to my eye it'd be at 105mm
