Make my photo better! I really like this shot and I wanted to see what others thought and how I could change it to make it better. I have another shot of this but it's with part of the bank with some rather tall grass that's distracting.

The subject is not very interesting and add darkness (with little detail) to the mix and you have a rather boring photo. I guess I just don't understand what you are trying to portray - to me, it doesn't tell the story. Those lights in the background is a little distracting - I was sitting here trying to figure what it was. Was the lighting from some lamps that are not shown? What was your intent? From a technical standpoint, the shot looks good and it was executed well - it just doesn't stand out to me I guess.

KK Thanks for the input. I'm going to look at some of the other shots I have of this and maybe revisit this site sometime in the future to see if maybe I can get a better shot.

I like it as is - including the light on the horizon, without which it would be all too gloomy. Yet there may be opportunities for improvement. Would the light on the main subject, and the reflections, still be as charming if the picture were taken at a different time. A touch of color in the sky, a hint of interesting clouds... Perhaps send a friend out into the picture, to look at the light on the horizon to make it appear something special. Enjoy.

I like this shot. I think the lights in the distance make the shot. I would crop as a strong horizontal though. Nice work.

Thanks all, going on vacation but i'll repost once i've planned it out a little better. I kind of randomly found it and was kind of on the spot. I'm gonna see about what I can do about it. Thanks again!

Overall, its a nice shot and the composition is nice. If it were me, Id pick a different time of night, maybe late evening, so I could get some sky out of it or maybe some color to the water.

^^ Ya I plan on doing this some time soon. Some of the things I took in from this one was just that (the lack of sky) I'll be back to get an update of this shot sometime soon. Thanks!

It follows the rule of third but like the other comments,i should've shoot this during twilight or daytime when there is clouds and blue sky that would make this more interesting, nice shot nonetheless..
