I had the opportunity last week to take some portraits, mainly headshots, of Charissa. She was great to work with. Let me know what you think.

Thanks! For the lighting, the first shots was 2 Promaster Studio lights shot threw umbrellas at about 1/2 power, one camera right and one camera left. Shots 2 and 3 has the same set-up as about with a third light behind the subject to the subjects left at approx. 1/3 power.

I'd like to see more light on her face in #1, and the clarity in the texture of the background bothers me a bit as well.

Pose 1. You need a hairlight.

Next time have her lean "over the belt buckle" toward camera right, then have her turn her head back more to camera left then have her bring her eyes back to camera position. Also raise the main light up until the catchlights are at the 11 o'clock position. This is called the 1-3-2 posing technique and it is very effective for young women.

I see her face a bit under exposed, even though you have hot spots on her face from too harsh a flash. They are on her cheek and lip in #1, and on her cheek and eye brow in #2. The cheek should be somewhat easy to heal/clone out, but the lip and eye brow hot spot will be more difficult.

And your re-post seems to be darker than your original though you were trying to brighten her face.

Thanks for the pose Benji, I'll try that next time.

The full size of the re-post is lighter, for some reason when I compressed the image it darkened it back up again. I'll work on cloning out the hotspots and re-post.
