Hello,

I have just switched from a G2 to a G6
I sometimes make panorama's and for the G2 I had the exact nodal point (wide angle). I even had a bracket for it but now I am looking for the dame for my new G6.

So, does anyone have the exact nodal point for the G6 and/or a drawing on how to construct a bracket/home-made pano-head for me?

I searched the forum(s) and although I found a lot of interesting information, I did not find, what I was looking for.

Hans

Hans:

Look at my post in this thread: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=88322

I list the nodal point for my G5, relative to the tripod mount, for three different focal lengths. I believe the lens for the G3/G5/G6 are the same, however the tripod mount on the G6 is on the right of the lens (as viewed in the normal shooting position) as opposed to the left hand side for the G3/G5.

The question is whether or not the fore/aft position is the same. I don't know. Good Luck

Hey man, your images are beautiful......i'm now going to have a go myself but there is a question i will ask though, do you use the cam in 'M' mode because i've found that if i set my G6 up in the Pano mode i don't have control over exposure and aperture??

Thanks for the comment.

For this reason, I shoot all my panos in Manual mode and I use manual focus (often set to the hyperfocal distance). In addition, I normally shoot RAW. If you are shooting your pano with jpg's, in addition to M-mode, you also need to set the white balance to something other than Auto.
