If you can get a pic with a lot of detail and do the eport and it still comes out small, get back to us with posted examples, and you can also get the Raw file uploaded to a site like YouSendIt.com so we can check it out! Here is a export of a 10mg file. The export was a virtual copy. Photography is an expression of the mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The compression level is a value from 1 to 100, so I suspect although you are using 100 for "quality", you have the resize checkbox checked.

Nov 22, 2010 18:39 | #10 Maybe it would help if I explain my workflow. Once in a catolog. I create smart collection for the sizes I need. Then I take and create VC of the image for the size I need, rate it and it goes in the the collection. From there I crop. If it's a 8x10 I create a custom crop then I export at 100% and 300 dpi. tonylong ...winded More info | Nov 23, 2010 03:00 | #11 When you say you are exporting at 300 ppi, that indicates that you are resizing it. Go through your export options and de-select any resize options -- keep it to where your pixel dimensions are original and not set to "inches" and a ppi resolution. Tony

tonylong ...winded More info | Nov 23, 2010 19:33 | #14 Well, it appears that either your original image is small or your crop was way too close. With the image open, you can go to the Library module and the Metadata panel and your crop dimensions should show as well as your original dimensions (you may need to pull down the list of viewing options next to the Metadata label and select All. That was my thought too, but I fired up LR3 and in the Export dialog using an Export preset that doesn't resize, the dimensions in that box default to 1000x1000, even though they're "greyed out" if "Resize to Fit" isn't checked.
