Last night I was editing some shots in LR3. I exported them to Tiffs, cropped/straightened in photoshop, then 'saved as' jpegs, and when I went to open the jpegs, it said it was an invalid file, like it was corrupt or something. I spent hours trying to get it to work. Even exported to .psd from LR3, and tried to save as a jpeg from a .psd, and no luck. I almost threw my computer out the window! Anyone know what is causing this? I can't remember what version photoshop I'm using, but it's a 7.0.x I think, and it's always worked fine before. Any advice? I don't really want to reinstall photoshop if I don't have to.

So, to be clear -- you had imported photos into Lightroom, exported them as tiffs and then opened them in Photoshop, edited them and were able to successfully save them as jpegs. Then you tried to open the jpegs and you got an error -- with what software?

You got it, Tony. I just double clicked on them and used window's default picture viewer. Then I tried the picasa viewer, and got the same result.

I found out what the problem was, but I'm still not sure why it's the problem. I usually add a 1 percent border/matte to my photos, and it turns out this is what was causing it to run terribly slow, and corrupt the files for some reason. I tried converting from tiff to jpeg without increasing the canvas size to give it the border, and they converted just fine. Go figure. After losing all my hair, 6 hours and 6 beers later, and a fresh reinstall of photoshop, it's the dog'gone border that was causing it.

Maybe file a bug report? This doesn't sound normal...
