There is far too much post processing in the first two for my taste. The eyes are really sharp in #2, though, which I quite like, but I think the blurring on her face is excessive.

I don't know if it's my monitor, but the white balance looks off in #3 due to the wall behind the subject, which is a shame because it's a nice picture.

The two first picture are High key shoots, where I wanted them to have not to much details :)

the third Is that I did a yellow and a red layer In photoshop, wanted It to look like It was from the 50-60s kind of colors.

thanks for the comments :)

The first one is amazing to me, I love it. I like the second one too, it's awesome too. I like the sharpness and contrast of her eyes.

I love the lips on the 3rd one, and the whole pictures shows a lot of personality.

You are one very lucky person =]

I'm not the best to explain but I give It a try:)

First I set up a white sheet as a background. put her about 20-40cm away from It. Then I put one umbrella pretty close to her at about 45degree at my left and aiming 30degree down, the second one Is about 10-20cm higher then her placed about 20-40cm In front of her aiming down alittle bit.

Since I dont have a third light source to flash the background complete white I set a slow shutter speed for the ambient to try to get It as white as I could ( 1/40 something )

I usuallay calculate that f1.4 Is good for 1/64 flash power at this distance, so I wanted to use aperture from 2 to 2.8. so example, from f1.4 to f2.8 It's two stop. So I turn up my flash two stops.

After that I put It In photoshop and and adjust the curves. and make It black and white.

sorry to go off topic, but I see some people refer to stops as 1/3s and others as whole numbers... I'm confused. Is 1.4 - 2.8 only two stops From what I can see in camera, it seems to have 1.8, 2.0, 2.2, 2.4, 2.8.... why is that? thnx!

f1.4 -> f1.6 = 1/3stop , 1.6 -> 1.8 = 2/3stop , 1.8 -> 2.0 = 3/3 (1 hole stop ).
