*Images cut for vulgarity

Woah... the 50L and 85L, as well as two versions of the Noctilux??

Call me jealous.

Dude ... that's a nice lineup. I'm hoping to get an 85 soon, so my gear will be very similar to yours ... honestly I'm not sure I'd ever invest in the L versions!

While it is true that the cost of the 85L II is pretty much the same as all five of those mediocre lenses together but personally I think it is worth it and you really do notice the difference. When it comes to lenses I choose quality over quantity :D

I wouldn't necessarily call any one of those lenses mediocre. They may not be L lenses but they can hold their own when it comes to image quality.

While I absolutely agree that it is a wise move to purchase the best lenses you can afford, it's also certainly not a bad idea to buy within your means as well. Case in point, I'd rather have a 35 / 85 combo over just an 85L and no other lens.

I do agree you don't need to have a million lenses (I keep trying to get myself down to just three, but it's difficult) but again, don't write off the gold ring lenses, they continue to surprise me :D

lol, yup, nearly $20k (Canadian) in 4 lenses and nearly 30k if you count the M9 and the 5D3 that goes with them :)
